Illinois legislators have introduced legislation that should be standard policy for state and local governments and public agencies everywhere. Senate Bill 0163 (introduced by Sen. Cristina Castro) and House Bill 1653 (introduced by Rep. Elizabeth Hernandez) would prohibit companies that violate workers' rights under wage and hours laws, and under the state's WARN Act, from obtaining state contracts for five years following the violations.
